Today, we’ll take you through a day in the life of our online marketeer Julia! Take a look into her daily routine at 9to5 software.
Julia usually starts her day around 8:30 or 8:45 AM at the office, giving her time to ease into her meetings. First, she quickly checks all the social media channels– any reactions or messages? All good? Check! She then schedules the posts for the day and takes a quick dive into the numbers of ongoing ad campaigns. Next, she shares her to-dos and checks the stand-ups from colleagues in the daily stand-up channel on Slack, so everyone (including herself) is up to date.
On Tuesday mornings, like today, Julia has her weekly marketing meeting with Susan and Ivana. This is the perfect time to review the progress of marketing campaigns and brainstorm new ideas. They discuss priorities and ongoing tasks for each product and review the sacred content planning to ensure everything is on track and they know exactly where to focus in the coming days. Sometimes the product chefs also join in to brainstorm and provide additional input.
After the marketing meeting, it’s time to dive back into work with renewed energy and fresh ideas. Julia always has a nicely varied to-do list. Last week, she was busy messaging potential clients via LinkedIn and fine-tuning Google ads for Innoverte. This week, she's more in a creative flow, working on a flyer for ParkMyBike and improving the nummi App Store images. Every day is something different, which keeps her work exciting and challenging and is exactly what she loves about working at 9to5!
Around 12:30 it's time for a well-deserved lunch break, provided by 9to5. The whole team joins in around the table, and conversations go in all directions: from new babies in the team and weekend plans to the latest tech trends. After lunch, Julia and her colleagues often take a refreshing walk along the Schie in Delft to recharge for the rest of the day.
Throughout the afternoon, Julia stays in close contact with the developers via Slack. Whether it’s a new website update for OmgevingsAlert, a live ad for Poopon, or questions coming in through social media – the short lines within the team ensure everything runs smoothly. At 9to5, it’s all about teamwork. By involving everyone from the start, we make sure that the entire process – from design to development and marketing – aligns perfectly. This way, everyone contributes to the success of each project!
By the end of the afternoon, around 3:30 PM, Julia takes a short break for some tea and a quick scroll through TikTok to spot the latest trends (and to recharge for the final stretch of the day).
The workday usually ends between 5:00 and 5:30 PM, but towards the end of the week, we always have fun afternoon activities planned! On Thursdays, we have the “DemoDo” or Demonstration Thursday at 4:30 PM, where we present the latest updates and developments in our software. And on Fridays? Then it’s time for the famous “vrijmibo” or social drink – the perfect moment to wrap up the week with the team and sometimes even move on to the pubs in Delft.
