Sustainable and circular development

For software developers a decision like this wasn’t difficult, we’re going paperless! This stems from the simple fact that resources that aren’t used don’t have to be recycled. 9to5 has been a paperless office from the very beginning of the company. The only form of paper we use here nowadays are the sketchbooks of our designer. Of course these are neatly discarded in the paper bin when he's filled them up. We also receive snail mail through the post (mostly tax invoices...). These are scanned and also discarded in the paper bin.

During the design of our circular office a possible second or third user was also taken into account. This means that the office kan be transformed to match the needs of different users. A few parts like the main supporting structure have a long lifecycle, but the internal components are allowed to have a somewhat shorter lifecycle. However, the office is set up in such a way that these elements are easily repaired or replaced.

Our office building is a fully dismountable structure made out of a prefabricated steel construction and wooden floors. Covering this wooden floor is a screed floor made out of mineral pellets and gypsum fibre boards to protect it. All materials used in the building are easy to reuse or recycle.
