Client and context
District8.net is a website with the latest 112 news from the region around Delft. The editorial staff of District8 consists of a number of photographers who try to be the first at an incident and report on it.
To make it easier to spread news a link between the District8 website and their mobile applications was needed. The website runs in Wordpress, while the applications run in their native environments (Android and iOS).

A coloured label gives a clear overview of where news is coming from. This label also shows up in the article you're reading.
News with a lot of images
Usually news is made up of mostly text. News reported by District8 is focussed on media. This is why news articles are usually short on text, but rich on images. This gives a good impression of the situation at hand.
Sharing news articles
With the app sharing news articles is easy. A share button is available on every article which allows for easy sharing through mail, sms, whatsapp or whatever the user wants.
